‘World’s Smallest Press Release’ Written on Grain of Rice to Celebrate Anniversary of Japan’s PR Times

Japan’s PR Times press release distribution service celebrated their 10th anniversary in a way that is truly unique – they printed the world’s smallest press release on a grain of rice.

More than a release really, the message, which is meant to express gratitude, in part reads:

“Thank you for everything. We would appreciate your continued cooperation.”

It probably sounds a lot cooler in Japanese.

There is also a making-of video demonstrating the process.

In a release, PR Times said:

“The World’s Smallest Press Release is an idea to investigate the roles of the press release in this mature society. Discussing the tone and manner of elements such as the title, composition, and timing of the press release is critical. Nevertheless, there is no progress if we fail to question the very concept of the press release and to continue redefining it. What we are creating is something that associates closely with the feelings that need to be conveyed. Whether it is befitting to call that a press release is another matter.”
